Bomp is to local dance nights as Red Bull is to Coke: less about the flavor, more about the jolt. The Moongoons-juiced party formerly inspired long lines of 18-year-olds in party dresses to stand shivering in line outside Bedlam Theatre’s West Bank home; when Bedlam got the boot, Bomp moved first to Nick & Eddie, then to the Nomad, and ultimately to First Avenue, an ideal home for this booty-grinding bacchanalia. The soundtrack will likely include Rihanna and LMFAO, but Carl Orff would suit just as well.
